February is All About Pink!

Happy February everyone! We LOVE this month because it is the turning point toward spring. Although it is snowing in Seattle right now, new green daffodil leaves are sprouting and our rose bushes have bud swells popping out everywhere in our California garden. Although always chilly, February has a certain je ne sais quoi because the love of February warms our winter hearts!

Whipping Cream and a Swing. Museum of Ice Cream, San Francisco.

Pepper took this amazing photograph of hundreds of whipped cream cans with a playful swing at the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco, and recommends it as a wonderful experience! This photo was perfect for our Pink February launch because it is so whimsical, vibrant, and sweet! Although many think that February's obvious color choice is red, think again! Red is the color of passion, while pink is the color of love. Red is bold, while pink is gentle. Pink is sweet, kind, light-hearted, and dainty. And we just love pink because it is beautiful and everywhere! Rosé wine and champagne, tulips, lip gloss, bubble gum, cookies, cakes, smoothies, cherry soda, gorgeous pink sunsets and sunrises, pink lady apples, flamingos, cotton candy, roses, peonies, pink magnolias, Japan's amazing cherry blossoms (and those stateside in DC), rose quartz, a pink Cadillac, Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the insides of seashells, pink sapphires, and Adam Levine's pink guitar! Simply put, we are tickled pink by pink!

Fun fact: pink has an automatic psychologically calming effect and is oftentimes used on walls in prisons and school lunch rooms to calm everyone the eff down. (This is true, because as a kid Pearl's public school's cafeteria walls were a very pale shade of blush. Not sure it worked though. Here's looking at you Table 6.)

Pink is the most often given color of flowers. Pink is the color that symbolizes joy, happiness, and love. Pastries, donuts, and cakes are presented in pink boxes because of the positive association our brains have with pale pink. We could go on and on.

We have so much in store this month that is all about pink! Happy Pink February!

Love,

Pearl & Pepper
