Are You Chilling? (Your Skincare Products)

Years ago my dermatologist advised me to store my potent prescription skincare products in the refrigerator to preserve their effectiveness for much longer. My dentist told me to do the same thing with my teeth whitening gel. And it makes sense. Our food lasts longer, staying fresh and healthy, because of refrigeration. In fact, The Royal Society has stated that the refrigerator is the most important invention related to food in history, beating out pasteurisation, the knife, canning, baking, and the oven. Why? The prevention of spoliation and preservation of nutrients. And yet our skincare products are essentially food for our skin, so why aren't we refrigerating our sunscreen, eye cream, neck cream, serums, masks, and face cream? Because it's inconvenient to go from the bathroom to the kitchen to retrieve and return our products twice each day. Lazy, lazy, lazy. Enter the mini skincare fridge - an incredibly affordable luxury item to enhance your skincare routine.

The Cooluli USA Mini Fridge. Love!

I love this mini skincare fridge made by Cooluli USA. I actually took several of my skincare items out of the Cooluli in order to make the picture below look more balanced, but this baby holds a TON of stuff! Large enough to hold six 12 oz cans this mini is major. And, it is also a warmer (in case you ever need to keep something warm like a rice-filled neck pad roll or even food on the go). It has both AC, DC and USB power cords to make the switch from standard (110V) to car (12V) to USB 2A power bank easy and convenient. You can take it from the house to the car to the office to camping to road trips and everywhere in between! But I like mine staying put on my vanity, storing all of my potions and keeping them potent and chilly.

A peek inside my Cooluli skincare fridge.

The Cooluli is nearly silent, with just a gentle low hum from its fan, which I can barely hear from my master bedroom while in bed. I have it sitting on my vanity and have really enjoyed every single second of storing all of my skincare in one easy and convenient location, keeping the products nice and cool, away from sunlight and temperature fluctuations in my master bath, and nicely organized. And I haven't noticed any impact to my electric bill either.

Cool skincare products are naturally de-puffing. Period, end of story. A chilled eye cream is heaven. And if you're using rose hip or other facial oils you know that no matter how dark the glass packaging is, the oil can smell fishy and rancid fairly quickly. But not nearly as quickly when it is being chilled and preserved.

We spend so much money on our skincare products yet allow them to degrade rapidly due to oxidization, exposure to sunlight, cool and heat fluctuations, and natural deterioration of their active ingredients. With the inexpensive and effective skincare mini fridge we have the opportunity to protect our investments, and enjoy the bliss of cool, crisp products on our skin!

When HOP (husband of Pearl) and I build or buy our next house I will absolutely have a beautiful wine refrigerator installed in the master bathroom cabinets. I plan to channel my inner Heather Dubrow and have water bottles, champagne, chilled glasses, AND my skincare products conveniently stored in a built-in bathroom refrigerator. But until then, my Cooluli mini fridge is getting the job done. I can even put mini water bottles in it so that if I want a bottle of water in the middle of the night I just walk into my master bath rather than turning every light in the house on in order to go into the kitchen.

Our friends at Cooluli are offering our readers a special promo code to purchase an Infinity or Vibe (the 10 and 15 liter sizes) Cooluli mini fridge from Amazon.com. Just enter the code THEPNP10 at checkout and receive 10% off of our purchase. I hope you will enjoy chilled skincare as much as I do!

Love,

Pearl
