Cocokind's Turmeric Spot Treatment: The Zit Zapper

Tumeric Spot Treatment
Cocokind's $9 Miracle

Those who read my harrowing tale in my last beauty post about my adult onset acne may recall that I mentioned that I had found a wonder cure to treat my pesky blemishes. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what I want to share with you today. Cocokind's Turmeric Spot Treatment. It is my holy grail. Ask any of my friend and they will tell you that I won’t shut up about this product, let alone the company that makes it. This won’t be my first and only blog waxing lyrical about all things Cocokind skincare. It is a game changer in the skincare business, and for me it has been a lifesaver. I am truly a superfan.

I stumbled upon Cocokind about 8 months ago on social media and after some thorough stalking of it's IG and website I was intrigued! The accounts and endless testimonials were one thing, but what really sold me was the brand’s positioning – affordable skincare. Cocokind's founder, who I have a major girl crush on, wanted people to have accessible yet effective skincare and so she started Cocokind from her kitchen. It’s now a blossoming business (although still somewhat under the radar) that is based out of San Francisco. It is growing it’s fanbase because of its place in the market and true word-of-mouth marketing. The other aspect of the brand that I find compelling, is that all of its ingredients are edible - essentially superfoods. Literally, you can eat the products. Although not having done so myself, I can't vouch for the taste! :)

So let’s talk turmeric since it is all about orange this month! Turmeric has become a trend in health and wellness. Showing up in medicinal form, powders, elixirs, food, and beauty. It’s mostly known as the main culinary ingredient in Indian food. Everything I grew up eating was loaded with turmeric. Never did I think I would end up applying it to my skin one day! In skincare turmeric is said to have anti- inflammatory properties and a component called curcumin. This second component reduces the production of melanin to help avoid hyperpigmentation or scars. So not only does this stick help with acne but it also helps you with scarring.

Cocokind's Turmeric Spot Treatment is made up of simple, yet effective, ingredients: organic sunflower oil, organic beeswax, organic turmeric, organic ginger root, and organic tea tree oil. It comes in a handy-dandy tube (that looks like a lip balm) for easy application. I started applying the product to all of my blemishes, whether they were fully-formed or just starting to make an appearance. Now be warned, this stuff has a very potent color and turmeric stains no matter how you handle it. So, once you apply it to your face I would recommend sitting and taking a break for 20 mins. That’s all you need to reap the benefits of this golden elixir.

There have been times when I’ve had a real doozy of zit and in those cases I’ve slept with it on my face overnight. Here's the trick: you must either put a towel on your pillow case or use an old pillow case because the turmeric will stain your linens (but it doesn’t stain your face). To remove, you apply toner or cleanser and it comes right off. Once in a while you may get some residue that comes off on your towel but if you do a thorough job cleaning your face after you apply the stick, you should be good.

This stuff is called the zit zapper for a reason. Overnight, I would see blemishes either disappear or shrink and become less inflamed. I used this stuff every night - even during the day on weekends. I may or may not have rolled into Starbucks with this stuff all over my face. But once you find a holy grail product you truly can’t live without it. Another key to this product is using it consistently. Use it as a part of your nighttime skincare routine, even when you don’t have any stubborn spots to contend with, and the overall improvement in the tone and texture of your skin in problem areas will have improvement over time. Also, pro tip: I’ve used this on some non-pimple related old scars on my legs and arms and it has worked wonders on them as well.

So, run don’t walk and get yourself this miraculous stick for $9. That’s right, I said $9. I wasn’t kidding when I said this was affordable skincare! You can order their products online or find them at your local Whole Foods. Word on the street is that Cocokind is launching in Target store later this month. And you know this stuff is legit, if Target is getting in on the game!

Cocokind is one of a kind.

Pepper
